motivation for Fatcats and possibly for chumlies of Fatcats!

Monday- Nope.

Tuesday-Gym
warm up with 1000 metre row, 4 min 32 seconds.
Set up deadifts at 40k, two set of 5
Upped the weight to 52.5k did a single set of 6, No loss of form and no stupid curve of the spine at this weight, so yay! Next week I"m going back up to 60k and we'll see. I'm finding the hook grip way more secure for the heavier lefts, even if it feels sort of strange.

Front Sqats using 8k bar. 40 of the buggering hateful things.

24k push press, 4 set of 10, which interspaced with 120 dips off the bench, 30 each time.

Finished off with a 20k bike ride, not as horrible as usual because I watched the tennis while I peddled.

Very pleased about dead lift form.

Wednesday- 11k. after lunch, slooooww. Slightly crippled from previous day's exertions.

Thursday- nada

Friday - Kickboxing, heavy bag work. Jesus I love hitting shit. LOVE it.

Satdee. Today I plan a run, a long run, I'm suffering from a hangover and I find running actually helps. Don't know why, but it does. It really bloody does.

Goodness me I am puffing and panting here and I haven`t even lifted a finger. Not to sure about running after a hangover, is it not the norm for "hair of the dog" so that the hangover forever prevails.

I'm not sure about it either, but it genuinely seems to work. About 5k in I start to feel less banjaxed and by the end of it I'm practically cured. Of course a hair of the dog would be a NICER way to go about it, but needs must.

don't go all east german on us FMC.
You must be built like a brick shithouse by now. What the hell's wrong with powdering and pampering and sitting about in lingerie eating a box of chocs?

Nothing I suppose. But I'm 35 Docky, I want my arse to stay where it is for another few years. PLus I have the fear of waking up one morning heavily disguised as a lilac couch.

By the way, being a woman who doesn't take steroids means I don't get bulky, the heavy weights tone more than bulk, it's actually bloody hard for us gals to put on muscle, much as I strive to do so. Also the weights really help to pack some ooomph into punching and kicking. YAY!

Monday: 1 hour football.
Tuesday: Gym - good workout.
Wednesday: 1.5 hours football (lots of twinges in legs).
Thursday: too sore to do anything.
Friday: Football...20 minutes into it, my groin muscle went twangggg and i'm sitting here on saturday writing this and I'm very sore.

Was having visions of doing loads of sports/gym stuff for the next month and had a clear timetable too. Lesson learned: build up gradually and know your limits.

Sigh.

After the hours you've put in Manuel that sounds like a much deserved saturday.

Ouch Docky, sounds painful. Ice and rest it up, you'll be back galloping around in no time. You are correct though about a gradual build up, although you can pull a muscle any time.

I ran this week! Woo hoo! It was a slow 2-miler, but I ran with no ill effects to ankles, knees, or thighs. It was brutally humid, and I seriously contemplated hanging up my running shoes until October, but there's another 10k to train for in September, so I ought to get my ass back in gear.
Besides the slow 2 miles on Thursday, I did my regular 5-mile bike commute and push-up routine Mon-Wed-Fri.
Turns out a side effect of regular push-ups is upper ab strength. Spouse asked me a couple times this week, "Have you lost weight?" while looking at my midsection. As much as I try to focus on what my body can do, rather than how it looks, any extra weight I carry always sits around the middle. Needless to say, it was a welcome compliment.

The pups take after me and don't likey the heat so it's been a challenge to get them tired out the past few days.
We need a treadmill.

And huzzah to hitting shit, FMC!

Nice week, toots.

Bad week for me. I could blame the weather but the gym's air-conditioned. Just Idleasseosis, I'm afraid.

Well done grims! Back in the saddle again. And well done on the push-ups and handsome midriff too.

Medbh, Sam, summer time and the living is supposed to be easy. If the weather here was less vindy and rainy I'd be doing less too, you can be sure of it.

Now, do I want to go drink rum in while? Why yes, yes I do. I am invigorated after my run, time to undo my good work!

Congratulations on selling the house, John! In this climate that's a rarity these days. The man at the end of our road has had his house on the market for 20 months and dropped his asking price twice.

Happy rumming, fmc! Tonight I'm going to a Perry Home Companion, a benefit to support our local theatre. Matthew Perry adn his wee sister and his dad and uncle and stepmum are all putting on a kind of a review thing. I wrote the sleeve insert for Uncle Tony's new jazz album and I know John Perry (the Old Spice Sailor!), a fair bit now too - Ojai's a small town - so we get to got to the afterparty. Woohoo! Ojai's full of fruits and nuts so it could be a fun night.

None of them drinks any more so I hope to God it's not dry, but in any case I shall report my snap judgment on Matthew and his girlfriend Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) despite the inherent unfairness of trying to sum up an entire human being after just one encounter.

Ohh do dish the gossip Sam!

The SF market is still hotish. We had no problem selling, an the best part was a musician and his wife(Katrina refugees)were the winning bidders, so my studio is in safe hands. Makes me a little less sad at leaving it.

Weeeell,

He was very nice, a natural goof. Put on a bit of weight. Dating an unknown waif - apparently the Gilmore Girl thing was an exaggeration. Sang a song with his dad, which was a first for him. Quite ruddy. Did a nice baseball skit with his grandma Molly.

His sister Maria is gorgeous in a non-conventional way. Beautiful genuine smile.

Cracking night, although the celebrity-free after-after-party was even better. Gin and ginger-ale and dancing - a fabby mixture.

Well done dudes. Manuel’s plan sounds the best especially the argument bit!

I went to the gym every morning last week and did nothing else except use the tread mill (between 8 – 10 k each morning), rowing machine (Don’t know cant work it about 30-40 mins) and cross trainer (kinda wavier here). I also went kick boxing twice last week it is good except each time I am sparing should a body try to punch me I run off, I can’t help it, I try to stay on the mat but it doesn’t happen. Everybody laughs when they see me. I was in Superquinn the other night and saw some guy from the class he gave me the smuggest smile, I was mortified. I am at a loss there. The classes are good though, they are in town and there are classes each day for all levels, you can go as often or as not so often as you might like. Also I went to Ikea yesterday and shopped for a million hours does that count? My legs were killing me when I got home.

That's some weights FMC, you must be super strong! It's so funny you consider 1000m row as a "warm up"!! Scary.
Savage day for me, swam, cycled and ran and I'm wrecked....
Sea swim tomorrow, I'm actually looking forward to it strangely...it's something different.
