A quite distressing phone call.

Well, how DO we feel about old school reunions? I feel a bit chaffed myself. Has anyone gone on one? What is the protocol? Are revenge fantasty style dreams just that, dreams? Are they as ghastly as I suppose? I need views, I need answers, I need valium.

I've never been to a school reunion. Mostly because I left my home country at first chance, so I haven't exactly been around to go to any, but I also shudder at the thought. I don't know why really, but I do. I can imagine people pretending to have such fabulous lives and bragging about this that and the other, while lying through their teeth. Maybe I'm just an old cynic..? But please go, because I'm sure it will be good stuff to blog about = good entertainment for your loyal readers :-)

Oh I see how it is missy, I get to spend an evening in agony, you get to laugh about it. Ni-ce.
I haven't decided yet.

Oh God, I've been working on a post about this. I took exams and graduated early, but the class I would have graduated with has its 20th year reunion this year. One of my former classmates tracked me down via e-mail and wanted me to go. I am so not going, for a whole variety of reasons.

I did thank you, and I have a Meg Ryan Fish to prove it, which I will be posting a photo of tomorrow.

I went to my 10 year College re-union. It was fine, but I went with my two best friends from College and we only stayed for the lunch then went off ourselves. It was good to meet people but it was a bit staid and boring at the lunch. The best part was meeting the two girls. There's another one coming up at the end of the year, but I think I'll be passing this time.

I missed my 10th last summer because I was in Cork...I heard from the three or four friends I keep in touch with that it was fun, but most of them described it as "look who got fat" kind of fun. Which is a little depressing, and not exactly compelling enough to get me there.

Never look back, is my motto. If you were so close at school, you'd have stayed in touch, wouldn't you? so a reunion would be unnecessary. Then again, if you have a burning curiosity about your former classmates, then go for it, girl! If your blog is anything to go by, you'll talk yourself out of any sticky situation!

I went to one, once. One of 'the' schools it was. There was an interesting revisiting of an incident that made the national press... make a reasonably good stage play... and to top it off someone nicked something off me.

Go for antropological reasons, but only if you've a thick skin and a strong stomach. Otherwise say it clashes with a pre-booked holiday on Grand Caymen/Mauritius/etc

It all sounds terribly iffy and they're having it in Wexford. That would mean having to stay in wexford for the night, and I've seen The Wickerman.

Hmm... be afraid, be very very afraid. (I'm presuming the Lilac One wdn't have countenanced a co-ed boarding school.)

Boarding Schools are cop-outs for people who do not want to rear their children, why have them.

You must be new here. My mother was a very staunch supporter of boarding schools and anything else that might keep/drive this fatcat from the family home.
Of course now she is old and cannot understand why her children aren't daying to spend more tie with her.

I see now I've been reading all afternoon with delight, I am sick in my leaba and will probably be here for quite a while so keep up the good work. I am whole-heartedly against boarding schools and reunions don’t go it will be messy.
